Why a door that never changes stops being seen
A wreath that goes up in November and stays until February is, by the second week, part of the wall. Nothing is wrong with it. It has simply stopped being new, and attention moves on. Research on hedonic adaptation describes how quickly our response settles once an experience stops changing, and how deliberately varying that experience can interrupt the settling. A front door is a small, low-stakes place to apply the idea: keep one sign, change one thing on it, and the entry keeps registering as cared for instead of disappearing into the house.
One sign, sixteen changes
A round wooden sign, roughly 30 cm across, with a face made for one small icon at a time. The icons are magnetic: press one onto the sign and it holds; lift it off with your fingers when the month turns. There is no hook to move, no ribbon to retie and nothing to assemble, so the change takes about five seconds and can be done on the way out of the door.
  • 16 magnetic icons covering the calendar, including Halloween and Christmas and the seasons either side.
  • Round wooden sign, approx. 30 cm (12 in) across.
  • Press-on, lift-off icon changes with no tools.
  • Ready to hang from the box; you supply the hook.
  • One sign and sixteen icons per order.
The part nobody mentions: storage
Sixteen decorations would need a box in the garage, and the box would need a shelf. Sixteen magnets fit in a drawer beside the door, or in the same small tin as the spare keys. That is the real difference between this and a collection of seasonal wreaths: the storage problem is measured in centimetres rather than bin bags, and nothing has to be untangled in December.
Where it earns its place
  • A covered porch or entry, where the sign is sheltered but still seen from the path.
  • Inside the door, on the wall the hallway sees first.
  • An apartment corridor, where a wreath is too much and a sign is exactly enough.
  • A rental, where the change has to come off again without marks.
  • A housewarming or new-home gift, because the icons let the recipient use it in whatever month they move in.
Hanging it
  1. Choose the icon that matches the month you are actually in.
  2. Press it onto the face of the sign.
  3. Hang the sign from a hook or an over-the-door hanger at eye level.
  4. When the season turns, lift the icon off and press on the next one.

What arrives
One wooden sign and sixteen magnetic icons. Hooks, hangers and the door itself are not included, and the photographs show props for styling only.
Good to know
  • The supplier describes the sign as wood. Species, finish and whether the disc is solid timber or engineered board are not confirmed, so we do not claim oak, pine or any particular grain.
  • It is not rated for direct rain, all-day sun or freezing conditions. A covered entry is the right home for it, and it should come inside for storms.
  • The magnets hold the icons in place on contact, but no wind rating is documented. In an exposed spot, expect the sign to swing and treat the icons as removable rather than fixed.
  • The icons are small parts. Keep them away from young children and pets that mouth objects.
  • Hanging hardware is not documented as included. Plan on a hook or an over-the-door hanger.
  • Colour, grain and the exact icon artwork can vary between pieces and production batches.
Frequently asked questions
Which icons are included?
Sixteen, covering holidays and seasons across the year, with Halloween and Christmas both in the set. The full set is shown in the product photographs so you can see each design before ordering.
How do the icons stay on?
They are magnetic. You press an icon onto the face of the sign and it holds on contact; you lift it off with your fingers to change it. There is no clip, slot or adhesive.
Can it live outside all year?
Under cover, yes. In direct rain, constant sun or freezing weather, no. Treated as sheltered decor rather than outdoor hardware, it lasts far longer.
Will it fit my door?
At roughly 30 cm across it suits most front doors, but measure the space between your door frame and any hardware first, and check that the hanging point can take a solid wooden sign.
Does it come with a hook?
Hanging hardware is not documented as included. Most doors already have a hook or will take an over-the-door hanger, which is the simplest option for a rental.
